Secret Santa gift exchange

Draw names, set a budget, buy one person a gift they'll love. We handle the shuffle, the secrecy, and the charity donation.

  • Names drawn privately β€” no one knows who got whom
  • Everyone gets a link to their person's wishlist
  • Every purchase donates to charity at no extra cost

Why use GiveTwice for Secret Santa?

Because coordinating a gift exchange over WhatsApp is how friendships end.

🆕

Fair, random draw

We handle the shuffle so nobody cheats, nobody gets themselves, and nobody ends up with their ex. Add exclusions if needed.

💍

Wishlist-powered gifting

Everyone can share their wishlist. Your person gets a link to it automatically. No more buying things that go straight to a donation pile.

❤️

Giving that keeps giving

When gifts are bought from wishlists on GiveTwice, we donate our commission to charity. Your group celebration helps people you'll never meet.

How it works

Three simple steps to perfect gift-giving

🎁

1. Create

Add gifts from any online store by pasting a product URL. We'll fetch the details automatically.

💌

2. Share

Send your wishlist link to friends and family via email, chat, or social media.

3. Receive

Others secretly claim gifts so you don't get duplicates. Everyone's happy!

❤️

Your Secret Santa, someone else's Christmas too

When participants buy gifts from each other's wishlists on GiveTwice, the stores pay us a commission. We donate 100% of that to charity. Your group exchange creates a ripple of good β€” no extra cost, no extra steps.

Tips for a smooth Secret Santa

1

Set the budget first

Agree on a number before anyone draws names. Nothing more awkward than a €200 gift meeting a €20 one.

2

Add exclusions

Couples who live together shouldn't buy for each other. Frenemies probably shouldn't either. Use exclusions.

3

Nudge for wishlists

After the draw, remind everyone to add a few things to their wishlist. Your buyer will thank you.

4

Set a gift deadline

Add an event date when you create the group. It shows on everyone's reveal page and keeps stragglers honest.

Frequently asked questions

How does Secret Santa work on GiveTwice?

You add participants (name + email), set an optional budget and event date, then click Draw. GiveTwice shuffles the names fairly, making sure nobody draws themselves. Each participant gets an email with a private link revealing who they're buying for β€” and a link to that person's wishlist if they have one.

Can I set rules so certain people don't draw each other?

Yes. Before running the draw you can add exclusion pairs β€” for example, partners who already exchange gifts separately, or colleagues who don't know each other well. The draw algorithm will avoid those pairings.

Does everyone need a GiveTwice account?

No. Participants receive a private reveal link by email β€” no account required to see who they're buying for. Creating a wishlist to share with their Secret Santa is optional, but free and takes about a minute.

How does the charity donation work?

When a participant buys a gift from a GiveTwice wishlist, the store pays us a small affiliate commission (the same as if you'd gone through any price-comparison site). We donate 100% of those commissions to charity. You pay the same price you'd pay anywhere β€” we just make sure the extra goes somewhere good.
